here iam giving step by step procedure to rename ur recycle bin.


1. Rename the Recycle Bin

HCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\LocalizedString

Changing the text at the end of this value from Recycle Bin to the text of your choice will change the name of the recycle bin.

2. Add a Right-Click Context Menu Item to an Unknown File Type

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unknown\Shell

To add a right-click context menu item to an unknown file type, right-click on the Shell subkey and choose New - Key. This will add a new subkey below the Shell. Give the new subkey the name of the application, as you’d like it displayed on the context menu. Next, you’ll need to create another new subkey under your newly created application subkey called command. There will be a Default value automatically created. Double click this value and enter the full path of the application’s executable file, but append a %1 to the end (i.e. c:\winnt\notepad.exe %1). The next time you right-click on that unknown file extension, you should see your new menu item.

3. Change the Internet Explorer Window Title

HCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title

This is where you can change the browser name that appears in the Internet Explorer window title.

Remember that their is no UNDO in registry - once you make a change to it, that change is permanent. So it is always safe to backup the registry before making any manual changes to the registry.

HCR = HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - Contains information about file types, filename extensions, and similar information.

HCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Contains configuration information about the system setup of the user that is currently logged into XP.

Add "Open with Notepad" to the Context Menu for All Files:

The default method of opening unknown files forces you to go through a list of known applications and is generally a pain to deal with. That's why I like to have a context menu option for "Open with Notepad" so that I can quickly open up files without having to go through a lot of trouble.

This registry hack is nothing new, it's been around forever… think of this as a refresher course. Also note that you can use this same technique to substitute any other application that you'd like by adjusting the path in the registry to point to the different editor.

Manual Registry Hack

Open regedit.exe through the start menu search or run box, and then browse down to the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell
Right-click on "shell" and choose to create a new key, calling it "Open with Notepad". Create a new key below that one called "command". Double-click on the (Default) value in the right-hand pane and enter in the following:

notepad.exe %1

The change should take effect immediately… just right-click on any file and you'll see the next menu entry.

How to create an invisible folder?


Well an invisible folder is quite interesting. Its not like a hidden folder. You can not click and open an hidden folder until its not unhidden, but an invisible folder can be clicked and opened. Its just like an invisible object which can be touched and felt.
What you have to do is just this.
1. Make a new folder and rename it to 'Alt+0160'(pressing alt key type 0160)
[use num pad to type 0160 otherwise it wont work]
2. You will find that the name of the folder is invisible.
3. The next step is to make the folder icon invisible. To do that right click on the folder--->go to properties --->then customize tab---->click on change icon




4. choose the icon as shown in the above pic. The icon is invisible, can be seen as blue rectangle. click ok.

And you get an invisible folder. You can click on this folder and you can open it. You can put files inside this folder. See this pic below


Check the path in the address bar. Its F:\ \Hello World. There is a space between two back slashes. This space is the name of your invisible folder.
